IP and Technology Dispute Resolution

Ian is a partner in the IP and Technology Dispute Resolution Group.  Ian has practised in the field of intellectual property since 1984.  He has acted for a number of substantial companies in relation to a wide range of disputes including patent disputes concerning medical devices and biotech inventions.  Ian has also acted on a large number of disputes concerning software and IT related matters.  Most recently he acted for Corbis Limited, a company owned by Bill Gates, in relation to a major patent dispute where he successfully oversaw the action for Corbis in having all allegations of infringement dismissed and the patent in question revoked. 

Ian is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, an accredited CEDR Mediator and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents.  Ian teaches patent law at Cambridge University.
