Brand Protection

Leighton has a wide range of experience in trade mark, brand protection and commercial law gained initially at the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand, where he was employed as a Trade Mark Examiner and in private legal practice at a well-regarded Auckland law firm.  He worked for several years inter alia managing the trade marks portfolios of a number of commercial, manufacturing and retail entities.  Leighton qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 1997 and joined the Trade Mark and Brand Protection Group at Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP in February 2004 where he deals mainly with trade mark prosecution and brand enforcement.
