Hastings joined FFW in 2006 on qualification.  Having read classics and modern philosophy at Trinity College, Oxford University, he lived in Florence, Italy, where he worked as a language instructor with several market-leading engineering and manufacturing businesses.  He then returned to the UK and studied at the College of Law in London before training at a boutique firm in Lincoln's Inn Fields.  While training he worked regularly with small and medium sized European businesses, particularly in the fashion and luxury  sectors, and worked on brand protection for high profile marks of geographical indication such as the CHAMPAGNE appellation.  He specialises in all aspects of brand protection and acts for a diverse range of clients in sectors such as consumer goods, food and beverages, light industry, and life sciences.  Well-known brands he looks after include BONITA bananas and ABSOLUT vodka.  He also has particular expertise in working with Italian businesses and speaks fluent Italian."
